So…

…if any of you follow my main blog, you would have seen the plethora of cute animals parading themselves all over my layout today. This is because after 3-4 years, my grandmother’s fight with cancer ended at approximately 8am this morning.

One thing I notice about deaths in families is that diets go out the window. Not because you stop caring persay. It’s more about the fact that you’re with family. You eat out with family. You have more to focus on than petty weight problems as your family builds stronger. Minds shift, priorities change for a brief time. This happened today.

I apologize for tomorrow’s weigh in. I’m getting back on track as of tomorrow, but really - I don’t blame me. Also: it may be why I may forget weigh ins in the future weeks as my family plans my grandmother’s memorial service. She was a wonderful woman. No one can truly say anything bad about her, which says alot for the type of person she was and the type of person I would like to be someday.

Weigh In: Day Seven

This weight is taken with a grain of salt given that I barely slept last night. Yes, sleep affects how much you weigh, or it does for me. If I sleep for 6-8 hours, I weigh less when I wake up. Simple, right?

Either way, Sunday I weighed 139. 10lbs in 6 days? My mom who  has been trying in vain for the last few months to lose 10lbs officially has no excuse.

Well, yeah she does. She’s 50, a bigger woman than I am, and has a slow metabolism. I’m 22, petite with natural muscle (I did ballet for  15 years, so that helps), and have a faster one than hers. It makes a difference. Still.

Weigh In: Day Seven

Weigh In: Day Six

Yesterday was a set back. I was so upset, but I didn’t dwell on it. Just kept going like it either didn’t exist or nothing was wrong. Just kept on keeping on. And look! 130!

That’s 2lbs away from 128lbs. That’s 5lbs away from my ultimate goal of 125lbs. That’s the light at the end of the tunnel. I see it.

Alot of people wonder why I don’t try for lower than 125. Truth is approximately 2 years ago I was at 123lbs. I was unhealthy though. To the point where my skinniness scared my dad after he put sunblock on my back one day. He vowed never to do it again. That sure is a wake up call, right? When your father is so afraid you’re slowly killing yourself that he won’t touch you? Yeah.

I once read a study stating females need a certain amount of fat over men. I don’t know about that, but I know 125lbs is the lowest, absolute lowest I can go until I become scary skinny (yes, there’s a such thing) and my period goes away (another sign of bitch you too skinny).

And I’m almost there. So excited.
